Just months after Governor Pritzker and his allies raised taxes by $1 billion to balance a budget with over $1 billion in free benefits for non-citizens, Illinois is facing a $3.2 billion deficit.

State spending has grown by more than 30% under Pritzker, fueled by temporary federal aid he turned into long-term obligations, bringing the budget to a record $53 billion.

Illinois families are struggling to make ends meet and can’t afford to pay for Pritzker’s budget mess. Senator Syverson is urging Gov. Pritzker to commit to no new taxes on families in the upcoming budget.
